Beam splitter (37) splits variable wavelength laser from laser (31) into two laser beams for standard and analysis. The apparatus measures element concentration by comparing intensities of two beans. Glow discharge lamping (GDL)(38) of the apparatus, consists of trigger electrode (49) inserted to upper insulator (48), anode (51) between (48) and lower insulator (52) with projection (52a), sample (56) fixed to bottom cathode (54) having concave (54a). Perforate holes (53,55) are formed on wall of (52a) inserted to (54a), and argon exhaust holes (57) are formed on the wall of (54a), and an argon injection hole (50) is formed on the wall of (48).
