The coordinate measurement device has a measurement arm (5) with an attached sensing head (7). An additional wt. (8) is movable suspened from the arm near the sensing head holder (6) and has a motion damper. Guide elements (9a,9b) for the suspension of the additional wt. guide it in both coordinate directions perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the measurement arm. The guide elements are several parallel spring rods, wires or plates. ADVANTAGE - Is retrospectively fitted with economical arrangement which reduces vibration amplitude of measurement arm in region of sensing system.
