<p>A day-night mirror assembly (10) for a motor vehicle having a housing (12) with a front opening (16), a first sheet of transparent material (18) at the opening and second sheet (20) which is located behind the first sheet (18) and which has a first light reflective surface (22) which faces the opening (16). A third sheet (32) having a second light reflecting surface (33) which differs in light reflectivity from the first light reflective surface is located within the housing (12) for movement between an inactive position to an active position in which the third sheet (32) is located between the first (18) and second (20) sheets and a second light reflective surface (33) faces the opening (16) in the housing (12). The third sheet (32) is selectively positioned in either the active position or the inactive position by means of an actuator (35) which is manually operated from outside of the housing (12).</p> |
