A vent valve for connecting a space (31) which can be acted upon by pressure medium to the atmosphere is proposed which is composed of a valve seat (18), surrounding a passage opening (17) for the pressure medium, and a disc-shaped valve body (24) made of an elastic material. The valve body (24) is arranged on a holding element (21) which is provided in the area of the passage opening (17). The holding element (21) is movable in the opening direction of the valve body (24) against the force of a spring (16). The distance between the valve body (24) and the passage opening (17) during a venting action is increased by this measure, which results in a reduction in the venting noise. <IMAGE>
