Apparatuses for installing and removing winding beams (5) on textile beaming machines are provided with two beam-bearing blocks (6) which are arranged on both ends of the winding beam (5) to be mounted between them and to be driven in rotation and which are arranged on a machine crossmember (4) so as to be displaceable with respect to one another and, at the same time, pivotable on the latter, there being provided on the beam-bearing supports (6) centrically located conical receiving bores for plug-in adaptor journals to be moved into these and attached to the winding-beam ends. In order to allow a jam-free installation and removal of the winding beam (5) in the region of its plug-in journals cooperating with the bearing bores on the beam-bearing supports (6), the beam-bearing supports (6) are suspended in a tiltably adjustable manner, via pull means (12) of adjustable length and resilient intermediate supporting elements (14), on supporting stands (7) of the machine which are movable together with them. The resilient intermediate supporting means, especially compression springs (14), are advantageously made adjustable for this purpose. <IMAGE>
