<p>There is disclosed a pedal powered structure in which a frame carrying a seat (12) and an axle (14) with a pivotally mounted pedal (15) on each side thereof is modified to include a pedal axle (17) extension beyond the pedal (15) at its inner and outer ends to provide inner and outer extensions, said pedal axle (17) rotating on a bearing (70) mounted within a crank assembly (16). Ligatures, (20, 21) one for each pedal axle extensions (18, 19) are connected at one end to one of the pedal axle extensions (18, 19) at the other end to an element (25) mounted behind and below the seat (12). The parallel ligatures (20, 21) spaced apart by approximately the width of the pedal, and strap means (22) are secured between each pair of parallel ligatures (20, 21) intermediate its length to rest upon the thigh of the rider above the knee when the rider is using the pedal powered structure. Ligatures (20, 21) are connected to the ends of strap (22) by means of two pulleys (23, 24), one on each end of the said strap (22).</p> |
