A shielded-passage for a glove opening of a glove-box comprising: 1) a cylindrical main section, 2) a hermetically sealed opening which fits into the glove opening of the glove box and 3) a cover plate integrally formed with the cylindrical main section to define a scale-like construction, whereby the cover plate is provided with cuts extending radially outwards from the centre of the cover plate in order to open the cover plate when an additional pressure is exerted on the cover plate. The cylindrical main section is fitted with an extended section having clamping elements to clamp the glove to the glove box opening. USE/ADVANTAGE - The glove-box can be used for processing slightly radioactive substances. The shielding prevents any radiation from leaking through the glove opening.
