A blood sample device for drawing blood from the patient. The device includes a locking mechanism (250) which holds a biased needle assembly (100) in the needle holder (200) during use. Upon release of the locking mechanism (250), the bias on the needle assembly (100) ejects the same from the holder (200). Various embodiments of locking mechanisms, utilized with and without various bias means, are utilized. |
