PURPOSE: To detect an error at the time of a fault by inspecting updated binary codes and judging whether or not they form a valid LRU(least recently used) bit pattern. CONSTITUTION: This system is incorporated in a cache storage system provided with a high-speed buffer storage device (cache) 1, a directory look aside table(DLAT) 2 and a device for maintaining and updating binary coding information relating to the order of the use of the respective sections of a butter storage device 11 corresponding to LRU replacement algorithm. Also, a pattern inspection means connected to a gathering means for deciding the validity or invalidity of gathered patterns or the like is provided. Thus, for the parity inspection of unchanged LRU bits and the pattern inspection of newly formed LRU patterns, without adding the time for them, LRU binary codes are inspected during an updating system write cycle. |
