PURPOSE: To obtain an extremely large sensitive plane by arranging a radiation absorbing panel in parallel with at least one optical waveguide containing a fluorescent dye coupled therewith on the surface of at least one panel. CONSTITUTION: At least one optical waveguide 2 is arranged on the surface of a radiation absorbing panel 1. The optical waveguide 2 comprises a core made of transparent polymer, e.g. polycarbonate, and a clad made of a polymer having relatively low refractive index, e.g. fluorinated acrylate. Furthermore, the optical waveguide 2 contains at lest one kind of fluorescent dye and the wavelength range of light source from the panel 1 is lapped over the absorption wavelength range of dye in the optical waveguide 2.
