Process and apparatus for the production of a textile mat, especially a boot mat for motor vehicles

To make the production of a boot mat, on which a rib structure is to be manufactured on a sheet-like textile structure, simpler and cheaper, it is proposed to indent grooves on the rear side of the textile structure according to the pattern of arrangement of the ribs and subsequently to fill these grooves with a filling material. A filling material stabilises the concave groove profile and gives rise on the front side of the sheet-like structure to a corresponding male-mould profile which manufactures on the mat the desired ribs having a supporting effect.
