PURPOSE:To decrease the distortion of the optical coupler and to improve the accuracy of optical axis alignment by providing soldering parts respectively partially to 1st and 2nd fixing parts. CONSTITUTION:This coupler has the 1st fixing part 12 for fixing a substrate formed with an optical circuit element and the 2nd fixing part 14 for fixing an optical fiber positioning member. The soldering parts 16, 17 are provided respectively partially to these fixing parts 12, 14. The soldering parts 16,17 are not provided over the entire surface of the 1st and 2nd fixing parts 12, 14 but are provided respectively partially to these fixing parts 12, 14 in such a manner, by which the stresses by a difference in the coefft. of thermal expan sion is decreased and the strains of the optical coupler 10 are decreased. |
