PURPOSE:To save manpower in data input work and to improve processing speed by optically reading the slip of exchange of each business store, automatically transmitting read data to an area center, and managing the data. CONSTITUTION:The data on exchange slip of each business store are optically read by a desktop OCR 2 as either character data or image data and transmitted through a remote OCR controller 4, a network controller unit NCU 5, and a public communication network 6 to an NCU 7 in the area center. A remote OCR recognizing device 8 of the area center receives the character data and the compressed image data, executes restoration, recognition, the conversion of KANJI (Chinese character) image data into KANA (Japanese syllabary) characters, etc., through work stations 9-1 and 9-2, and manages the data on exchange slip for each business store. Further, the device 8 operations for checking and correcting the recognized data, operations for adding the read data, etc., and communicates through a private communication line 13 with a host device 14. Thus, the manpower in the data input work can be saved, and the processing speed can be improved. |
