<p>NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are 9-20C alkyl; m and n are positive integer including 0; m+n is 0-4). EXAMPLE:2,2,-(1,4-Naphthalenediyl)-bis-(5-nonyl-benzoxazole). USE:A fluorescent agent for photographic substrate. Extremely reducing tendency of yellowing caused by titanium oxide, especially rutile type titanium oxide contained in high concentration in a resin layer at the side of forming images of photographic substrate of resin coated sheet type such as polyester by adding a fluorescent agent to the resin layer and producing clear white without causing hindrance at all. PREPARATION:An alkyl-substituted phenol shown by formula II (R=R<1> or R<2>; 1 is 1 or 2) is nitrated to form a compound shown by formula III, the nitro group is then reduced to give an aminophenol shown by formula IV. The aminophenol is condensed and subjected to ring closure with naphthalene-1,4- dicarboxylic acid in the presence of a condensation agent to give a compound shown by formula I wherein R<1> and R<2> are R and m and n are 1.</p> |
