CONNECTOR FOR OPTICAL FIBER CABLES

A connector is disclosed for an optical fiber cable which comprises at least an optical fiber surrounded by a tension resisting member. The connector comprises a hollow cylindrical body; a lens support mounted in the hollow cylindrical body for sliding movement axially of the latter, the support having an axially extending bore for receiving the optical fiber; and a lens mounted in the bore at one end thereof for receiving an end of the fiber in energy coupling relation. The tension resisting member is secured to the hollow cylindrical body.
