PURPOSE:To automate the selection of contact lenses, by classifying the contact lenses by each base curve, and determining said base curves, etc. with the radii of horizontal and vertical curvatures of the ophthalmometer as input information. CONSTITUTION:An ophthalmometer 9 is so constituted as to classify the kinds of contact lenses beforehand in accordance with at least the radii of horizontal and vertical curvature, and to read out the kinds of the contact lenses stored beforehand therein in accordance with the radii of the horizontal and vertical curvatures by the sensor outputs corresponding to the respective radii of the horizontal and vertical curvatures from the ophthalmometer 9. According to such method for selecting the contact lenses, the need for the laborious work relating to the selection of the kinds of contact lenses and the use of a corner size meter by the use of conventional ophthalmometers is eliminated and the selection of the contact lenses is easily automated. |
