PURPOSE:To improve the packing property of a material and the corrosion resistance of the applied body and to make the refractory appropriate for casting by incorporating a specified amt. of a high-viscosity high molecular flocculant capable of controlling the separation of the materials of the refractory composition into the composition. CONSTITUTION:Zircon sand, zircon flower, quartzite, fine zirconia powder, amorphous silica superfine powder, alumina cement, etc., are mixed to produce a casting refractory composition. A high-viscosity high molecular flocculant capable of controlling the separation of the materials of the composition is incorporated by 0.001-0.1wt.% into the composition. The polyethylene oxide, polycarboxymethyl cellulose, dextrin, etc., having >=5000mol.wt. are appripriately exemplified as the flocculant. As a result, even if the composition is applied by a vibrational method, the materials are not separated by vibration, and an applied body having a uniform structure is produced. |
