PURPOSE:To obtain excellent detachability of slag and high cracking resistance and mechanical properties in weld zones by adding specific contents of S and Bi in a flux for submerged arc welding. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of submerged arc welding by an Ni-base welding wire or by combining the same with a Cr-Ni type stainless steel wire, a flux is contained therein with 0.001-0.3% S alone or total of 1 or >=2 kinds of compds. in terms of a single substance based on the total weight of the flux and is contained with <=0.3% Bi alone or total of 1 or >=2 kinds of compds. in terms of a single substance. Further, 3-40% metallic carbonate, 10-30% titanium oxide, 5-20% metallic fluoride, 8-25% aluminum oxide and 10-30% magnesium oxide are contained therein. |
