PURPOSE:To contrive to save energy by allowing a non-condensable gas to diffuse from a culture solution containing the non-condensable gas under a specific condition and subsequently maintaining the remained solution under a flash distillation condition to recover alcohol from the culture solution. CONSTITUTION:One part of a culture solution is taken out from an alcohol fermentation tank and fed in turn into plural tanks maintained at pressures lower than the atmospheric pressure and successively reduced, respectively. In the first tank, the fed culture solution is treated under a condition permitting the diffusion of a non-condensable gas such as carbonic acid gas dissolved in the culture solution to release the non-condensable gas. In the last tank, the pressure of the last tank is maintained at a flash distillation condition to recover alcohol from the non-condensable gas-removed culture solution, followed by recycling the remaining solution into the fermentation tank, thereby carrying out the recovery of the alcohol in an energy-saving state. |
