PURPOSE:To effectively eliminate an interfering echo and to contrive the improvement of the measuring accuracy by bringing an ultrasonic shielding material into contact with the surface of a material to be inspected between an incident spot of an ultrasonic wave and a surface flaw, and absorbing and shielding a surface wave. CONSTITUTION:In a pipe of material to be inspected 1, a horizontal supporting plate 5 like a concentric circle is placed so as to be freely rotatable, and a probe 2 is fixed onto an eccentric axis of the supporting plate 5 by a fixing jig 6. Subsequently, an ultrasonic shielding material 7 consisting of plate-like rubber such as a rubber wiper, etc., is fixed by a fixing jig 8 so that its tip; comes into contact with the surface of an inner wall being toward the rotational direction from a position where the eccentric axis and the surface of the inner wall of the material to be inspected 1 intersect with each other. In such a way, when the inside of the body to be inspected 1 is filled with water, and the supporting plate 5 is rotated, while operating the probe 2 and an oscilloscope, and a surface flaw 3 is brought to flaw detection, a surface wave which becomes an interfering echo is absorbed and shielded by the shielding material 7, and the measurement can be executed with high accuracy. |
