PURPOSE:To simplify a control system, and to reduce the cost of equipment, by operating an optimum passing speed conforming with the control system of a winding machine so as to stop to a tail end of a material to be wound, at a fixed position, and controlling a speed of a rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:A winding diameter at the point of time when the tail end of a material to be wound 1, length of the material to be wound 1, a forecast value of the final coil diameter, a forecast value of a coil diameter at the point of time when the tail end of the material to be wound 1 passes through a rolling mill 2, and the remaining number of revolutions of a winding machine 4. Subsequently, in accordance with this detected value, an optimum passing speed VO for stopping the tail end of the material to be wound 1, at a fixed position of the winding machine 4 is operated. Also, in case when a speed of the rolling mill 2 exceeds the speed VO, the speed of the rolling mill 2 is varied so that it attains the speed VO. |
