PURPOSE:To allow sentences including symbols to be read aloud in a natural way of reading by providing a symbol analyzing means which detects the symbols included in KANJI (Chinese character)-KANA (Japanese syllabary) mixed sentences and forms the rhythm information of the word string, including the above-mentioned symbols according to the words before and behind the same. CONSTITUTION:The KANJI-KANA mixed sentences are inputted and voices are synthesized in accordance with the phoneme information on the reading and others obtd. by the language analysis thereof and the rhythm information on the pauses between words, accent combinations, and others. The symbol analyzing means 11 detects the symbols included in the KANJI-KANA mixed sentences and forms the rhythm information of the word string including the symbols according to the words before and behind the same. The symbol analyzing means 11 sets the symbols as ordinary ordinary nowns if the words before and behind the same are particles or auxiliary verbs. The KANJI-KANA mixed sentences are read aloud in this way according to the applications of the symbols included therein. |
