Heat recovery device for a hearth, characterised in that it consists of a hollow, couched U-shaped structure 1a, 1b, 2, inside which the air circulates, activated by a fan, the median part of the U being placed in the path of the hot smoke. It rests on two slideways 4 made integral with the internal face of the corresponding cheek J of the hearth. The median part of the U-shaped structure consists of a plurality of tubes 2. The heat recovery device consists of two identical box structures 1a, 1b into each of which the tubes 2 are fitted, means 6, 7, 8 being provided to keep the assembly together. <IMAGE>
