PURPOSE:To prevent projections from corrosion and oxidation to keep height constant so as to obtain good cell reaction by forming an oxidation resistant, bromine resistant resin layer on the tip of each projection of a separator membrane. CONSTITUTION:For example, a roll coater 12 is rotated within a case 11 in which a resin is stored, a separator membrane 5a is moved in the right direction with being in contact with the roll coater 12 to form an oxidation resistant, bromine resistant resin layer on the tip of each projection 9 formed on the negative electrode 1a side of the separator membrane 5a. The projections 9 are protected from oxidation and decrease in height of the projections 9 is prevented. The distance between the negative electrode plate 1a and the separator 5 can be kept constant. An electrolyte can flow quickly through the separator and smooth cell reaction continues. |
