PURPOSE:To obtain a column of high capacity and quick analysis, by packing particles of porous styrene-divinylbenzene copolymers having a specific range of a grain diameter and specific exclusion boundary molecular weight in the bigger and shorter column than usual. CONSTITUTION:The packing materials consisting of porous styrene (st)-divinylbenzene (DCB) copolymer particles in a range of 5-10mu grain diameter and having <=5X10<5> exclusion boundary molecular weight calculated in terms of standard polystyrene and porous styrene-ethyl vinyl benzene-divinyl benzene copolymer particles in a range of 5-15mu grain diameter and having >=5X10<5> exclusion boundary molecular weight calculated in terms of standard polystyrene, is packed in a cylindrical column having 9-12mm. inner diameter and 150- 400mm. length by using each copolymer individually or a mixture of adequate ratio in accordance with analyzing sample by a method charging the slurry consisting of the packing material and an organic solvent under pressure. Hereby, the column having a good separation capacity and being capable of analyzing in higher speed than usual, is obtained. |
