Device for measuring the mechanical behaviour of a rock sample under an effective confinement pressure. It comprises: - an enclosure 5, 19, 20 in which the sample is deposited under the action of a means for applying a given mechanical stress; - means 6 to 13 for circulating within the enclosure a confinement fluid in direct contact with the lateral surface of the sample, which fluid filters through the sample from the lateral surface towards the end surfaces; - means 26, 27, 14 making it possible to drain the filtered fluid from the end surfaces, and means 16 for measuring this filtered and drained fluid.
