The vertical contour correction circuit in a video signal readout device for a solid state video sensor employs a time delay unit with a time of one horizontal period. An input amplifier feeds the signal to the delay unit to which is added the output of a feedback amplifier connected to the delay unit output. A feedforward amplifier passes the incoming video signal round the input amplifier and the delay unit and adds to the time delay output.
