<p>PURPOSE:To clear the doubt of illegal utilization to a customer by collecting a medium after the medium is made ineffective when it is forgotten to pick up the medium in a device in the case that the customer inserts the medium and executes transaction. CONSTITUTION:When a card 1 is left in a card insertion/discharge port 6, an ATM monitors the card 1 for a fixed time so that the card 1 can not be picked up by the other person. After that, the collection of the left card is executed. When the card is sucked into the device, data are once read from the sucked card and an ineffective character is added to a determined position in the read data. When these data are written to a magnetic stripe 2 of the card, this card is handled as the ineffective card. For the card displayed as the ineffective card, when such a card is used next, the card is checked in the ATM and it is prevented to advance the transaction. Thus, the card is prevented from being illegally used.</p> |
