PURPOSE:To make possible to lowering of baking temperature and reduction of producing cost without deterioration of varistor properties by containing specific amount of Bi, Co, Mn, Ti and B calculated as oxide in ZnO. CONSTITUTION:0.2-5mol% Bi2O3, 0.01-10mol% Co2O3, 0.1-10mol% MnO2, 0.1-5mol% TiO2 and 0.1-12mol% B2O3 are contained in ZnO to afford a ceramic material for varistor. Said material is able to maintain varistor voltage and non-linear coefficient as varistor characteristics with lowering baking tempera ture to 800-100 deg.C. By said improvement, consuming amount of energy of electric power, etc., is able to be reduced and baking time is also able to be shortened, and further Ag of low cost is able to be used without using noble metal having high melting point such as Pt or Pd as internal electrode. |
