PURPOSE:To improve resistance to dental caries and acids and biocompatibility by blending a specific raw material for forming whiskers with Ca3(PO4)2 and calcining the resultant blend. CONSTITUTION:Ca3(PO4)2 having 0.1-100mum particle diameter in an amount of 60-95wt.% is blended with 40-5wt.% raw material which is a mixture of a silica supply component in an amount of 1-40wt.% expressed in terms of SiO2 and a CaO supply component in an amount of 1-20wt.% expressed in terms of CaO with at least one selected from an alumina supply component in an amount of <=20wt.% expressed in terms of Al2O3, a magnesia supply component in an amount of <=20wt.% expressed in terms of MgO, a zirconia supply component in an amount of <=20wt.% expressed in terms of ZrO2 and an SrO supply component in an amount of <=20wt.% expressed in terms of SrO having a formation temperature 50-400 deg.C higher than calcining temperature of the Ca3(PO4)2 and the resultant blend is formed into a desired shape, dried and calcined at 800-1500 deg.C for 0.5-1.5hr to afford a whisker mixed crystal type calcined compact containing whiskers having 0.5-2000mum major axis, 0.2-100mum minor axis and 2-20 aspect ratio dispersed in the Ca3(PO4)2 matrix. |
