PURPOSE:To provide the titled fiber having permanently durable excellent heat- insulation effect and excellent durability such as wash resistance, etc., and having flat cross-section, by compounding fine metal powder having low emissivity at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber has a flatness of >=2 in cross-section, containing 1-30wt% fine powder of metal (preferably flakes of Al, Cu, Ni, brass, Fe, Ti or their oxide) having an emissivity of <=0.3 and an average particle diameter of 1-100mum, and preferably having a single filament fineness of 2-12 denier. The polymer constituting said fiber is e.g. polyester, polyamide, polypropylene, cellulosic material, cellulose acetate, all-aromatic polyamide, polyacrylonitrile, etc. |
