The density of the printed output is uniformly related to the surface area and characteristrics of the individual documents which make up its workload. Previously registered equipments are capable of integrating the total area for the purpose of illumination control but cannot discriminate between the individual items which together form the composite workload. The method described employs a system of rectangular coordinates as the basis for the necessary computation using analogue/digital techniques for data storage and recall with processing by standard modules. User pre-selection is allowed for via keyboard input and illumination control thus correlated to specific documents on an item by item basis. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables improved quality of output where multiple input is required.
