EXAMPLE:N<6>-Cyclopentyl-2'-O-methyladenosine. USE:A hypertension remedy. The compound is highly safe and can be orally administered. PREPARATION:The 3 and 5 positions of the saccharide portion are protected with protecting groups such as tetraisopropyldisiloxane and an O-alkyl bond is selectively formed at the 2 position. A -NH-X bond is introduced at the 6 position of the purine group with an amine of a formula: X-NH2.
