PURPOSE: To obtain an oral composition which contains a therapeutic agent dispersed in a matrix containing a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer, thus is suitable for applying individual separated and dried microfine particles for treatment of dental diseases. CONSTITUTION: In a matrix containing a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer, for example, poly (dl-lactide) or poly(glycolide-co-lactide), an effective amount of a therapeutic agent (a tetracycline is particularly suitable) is dispersed in microfine particles of 0.1-1,000μm, particularly 3-120μm diameter. This composition is charged in a vessel having an exit means that is suitable for insertion into the gap between teeth and applied from the top end of the exist means into the gap between periodontal membranes.
