PURPOSE:To reduce the discharge of noise due to the striking sound of a printing head to the front surface of a printer to the minimum by providing a cover opening part being a discharge port above a platen and providing the printing head under the platen and arranging the platen between the cover opening part and the printing head. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 1 is provided under a platen 2 to be kept away from the opening part 3a above the platen and the discharge of the noise of the printing head 1 from the opening part 3a is reduced. Since the platen 2 is arranged between the opening part 3a and the printing head 1, the platen 2 develops effect as a kind of a sound shielding member and the noise of the printing head 1 is not directly discharged from the opening part 3a. Since a sound absorbing or shielding material 7 is provided to a cover 3, the discharge of noise can be reduced still more. Further, a bail roller 4 is provided as a fixed type, it is unnecessary to take the movable region of the bail roller 4 and the sound absorbing or shielding material 7 can be easily provided to the cover 3. |
