The hinge for the lid of a box is formed by a bar (2) which has one end attached to the lid. The other end of the bar (2) is pivoted by a pin (8) to a small plate (7a). This plate (7a) has an attachment devicee (9) projecting from the edge opposite to the pivot pin. A fitting (7b) attached to the body of the box has a slot on one face which matches the shape of the attachment device. A circular recess (10c) is formed on the opposite face of the fitting. The hinge (2) is attached to the fitting (7b) by inserting the attachment device in the slot and then rotating the hinge (2) and plate (7a) through 90 deg. USE - Hinges for boxes etc.
