PURPOSE: To obtain a medical tool covered with a cationic antibiotic substance provided with continuous activity against a sensitive infectious agent, by giving a group charged negative less than pKa6 to a support body, then dipping the support body into cationic antibiotic-containing solution and drying. CONSTITUTION: A group charged negative less than pKa6 is given to a medical tool and then the tool is dipped into solution of a cationic antibiotic substance to combine the cationic antibiotic substance to the medical tool by an ionic bond. A negative-charged group can be formed in the surface of the medical tool. It can be also applied on the surface. In that case, a preferable carrier molecule is heparin. It has a number of sulfate groups and can combine with two or more cationic antibiotic substances. It also has bacteria adhesion preventing activity and antithrombogenic activity. Consequently a more number of cationic bond sites per a constant area can be given to fill the cationic antibiotic substance denser into the support body. |
