The towing hook (5) for towing a trailer behind a motor vehicle consists of a bar (8) which is curved upwards at one end and is fitted with a ball (7). The other end of the bar (8) is fitted with a rectangular flange (9) which is bevelled on both sides of its lower edge (21). This flange (9) fits in a hole in the mounting plate (2) which is attached to the towing vehicle. The upper edge of the flange (9) fits inside the upper edge of the hole in the mounting plate (2) whilst the bevelled lower edge abuts against the bevelled lower edge of the mounting plate hole. The hook (5) is held in this position by a spring loaded pawl (10) which can be released by rotating a lever (15). USE - Towing hook for a trailer.
