PURPOSE: To prevent a deformation of a rubber-covered surface of an embossed cylinder by incorporating a row of protrusions provided in a pattern inclined to a flat surface perpendicularly passing a cylinder axis, and avoiding or reducing a repetition of pressurizing action in a local circumferential zone of a pressure roller. CONSTITUTION: Two embossed webs are driven around cylinders 3, 5, and coupled in the state that the webs are opposed at a protrusion S. A row of one set of protrusions of two embossed cylinder faces of the cylinders 3, 5 are slightly inclined to axes, formed at an angle Y to the protrusion of a rotating axis X-X of the cylinder with an end S formed slightly spirally to an axis F1 to F1. This is not only disposed along an aligned line F1 to F1, but also inclined along another aligned line F2 to F2 by eliminating the same angle Y as the flat surface disposed perpendicularly to the axis X to X of the cylinder surface. Two sets of protrusion rows are pressurized by a spirally rotating operation perpendicularly spirally. |
