PURPOSE:To discover a fine defective position by providing a microprocessor for operating an object to be diagnosed, a program memory, a data transmitter for transmitting data, an operation unit for designating a program for starting in the program memory, and a display unit of a diagnosis result of the object to be diagnosed or an executing operation. CONSTITUTION:In a fault diagnosing machine 4, 40 is data transmitter, 41 is a microprocessor, 42 is a program memory, 43 is a RAM, 44 is an I/O port, 45 is a switch and display unit. A switch 21 of an operation unit 18 is first operated to start data transmission program, reception buffer and image buffer reading program, data comparing program, thereby diagnosing the trouble of an interface unit. If a fault is discovered, sole program of data transmission program, etc. is repeated to discover the defective position. If the interface unit is normal, the switch 21 of the operation unit 18 is designated to diagnose a mechanism 2 to repeat operations of spacing sheet feeding, ribbon feeding, head driving, etc. |
