PURPOSE:To obtain the long bandlike base impregnated with resin without the air residual in the base by a method in which the tension of said base is set at a specified value or lower, and then the base is impregnated with resin varnish. CONSTITUTION:When the tension of a long bandlike base is caused to be 10kg/cm<2> or lower, and the base is impregnated with resin varnish, the impregnation may be achieved, while the space between the crossing of the warp and the weft of a glass cloth and a filament is not narrowed, therefore the base impregnated with resin without the air residual in the base, may be obtained. The long bandlike base to be used is the woven cloth, the unwoven cloth or the mat composed of the inorganic fiber such as glass and asbestos, the organic synthetic fiber such as polyester, polyamide, polyacryl, etc., or the natural fiber such as cotton cloth. The base may be also made of paper, etc.. As the resin varnish, phenol resin, cresol resin, epoxy resin, fluorinated resin, etc., are used as single material, modified material or mixture. As the means for keeping the tension at 10kg/cm<2> or lower, the difference between the speed of feeding rolls before impregnation and the speed of take up rolls, is applied thereto, whereby the object is achieved. As the impregnating means, dipping, spraying, coating, transferring, flow casting, etc., are used. |
