PURPOSE:To enable measurement of the Bauschinger effect of flat plate by using a test piece provided with notches running parallel to a direction of measurement. CONSTITUTION:2 straight notches 10, 10' and 11, 11' running along 2 parallel straight lines in the direction of shearing characteristic test of plate surface from opposed edges of a test piece 20 are cut. Next, edge segment pieces 1, 2 and central segment piece 3 are provided with tensile forces in LH and RH direction in an opposed manner (b) and next, the edge segment pieces 1, 2 and central segment piece 3 are pulled in the opposite direction (c). Deformation of (b) shown is represented by a curve OA and (c) a curve ABC. The curve BC is reversed in point symmetry (Broken line) and a difference of shearing stress from the curve OA is measured for determination of the Bauschinger effect and thus, necessary informations for an improved accuracy of dimensions and shapes of products in case of press forming including the bending-back operation. |
