The cardboard ends (2,3) of the package are formed to support the ends of the lamp tube (5). A rectangular clear plastics material slide (10), with a hanging aperture (13) in its upper tongue (12), is fitted over one end, and a similar tube (30) with a box-like strengthening is fitted over the other end. When the ends, slides and tube have been fitted together, a clear plastics 'shrink-on' sleeve (20) is added to complete the package.
