Device consisting of a grill 5 mounted in a support structure 1 and composed of a series of stable bars 3 and adjustable bars 4, forming two assemblies. The grill has shelves 6, 7, 8, one 6 of which is beneath the surface of the means from which the material is extracted and the others 7, 8 being on the surface of same. The bars 3, 4 have undulating edges and the assembly is actuated by a piston 8' suspended from a trolley 9 provided with a wheel 13 on a telpher system 10 mounted on the structure 1, the translational movement being effected by a wheel 15 which presses on a stop 14 and is mounted on four direction devices 11, 12 on the structure 1. The apparatus is used for separating residues from a contaminated liquid medium. <IMAGE>
