Portable barbecue of the type which comprises a hearth receptacle and a grill, characterized in that, unlike known barbecues, which are tiresome to assemble and dismantle and complicated to store and transport, the present barbecue eliminates these drawbacks since its hearth receptacle consists of a single piece 1 of cast metal which, at the bottom, has feet 2 and, at the top, in two suitable areas of its opening, holes 5 for the engagement of handles 6 and recesses 3 for the coupling of the grill 7, either in order for it to be used or for it to be stored, said grill 7 consisting of two identical, superposed grill pieces 8 which are articulated together via respective edges by means of rings 9, whilst, close to the opposite edges, and via the facing faces of said grill parts 8, individual handles 10 and 10' are articulated, one of which comprises a keeper 11 which secures it to the other handle in the position of use of said grill 7. <IMAGE>
