A platinum complex of formula (I) are prepd. In the formula, Cp' is a cyanopentadienyl gp. eta-bonded to the platinum atom and is also bonded to the silicon atom of an organosilyl gp.; each of R1, R2 and R3 is C1-18 aliphatic gp., the gps. R1, R2 and R3 being signa bonded to the platinum aton; each R4 (same or different) is C1-18 satd. linear aliphatic gp., C3-18 satd. branched aliphatic gp., C4-18 alicyclic gp., C6-14 aryl gp. or -Cp'Pt'(R1)(R2)(R3); R5 is R4 or -o- (Si(R4)2O)-. (I) are useful as actinic-radiation sensitive catalysts for a hydrosilation process.
