Said mechanism is composed by a straight horizontal bar of short length placed transversely to the axis of the vehicle and provided, at one of its ends, with a bend with a control handle for forming the direct manual operating lever of exchangeable type, the length of said bar being practically equal to the width of the front passenger seat in order to allow the aforesaid lever to be located freely in the space which exists between the aforesaid seat and the driver and within reach of the latter's right hand, the aforesaid bar being supported rotatably on the customary bearings fixed to the floor of the motor vehicle and there being arranged, in this case, at the opposite end from that where the aforesaid operation takes place, a graduatable articulation system for a second transmission with immediate action on the means intended for opening the relevant door. <IMAGE>
