PURPOSE:To obtain variable image forming device by making attachable with compatibility a processing unit for monochrome image and a processing unit for color image with a multiple number of developing devices which are exchangeable. CONSTITUTION:A multi color processing unit 3A is formed from a cartridge containing a photosensitive drum 30, developing devices 36 to 38, and a cleaning device 39. The developing devices 36 to 38 are easily attachable/detachable to be exchanged, by an attaching mechanism. The cartridge is attached in the main body 2 through a guiding rail 4B. On the other hand, the monochrome processing unit is formed from a cartridge containing a photosensitive drum and a cleaning device, and a developing device containing a specified color of toner is housed in the cartridge, and is attached to the main body 2 through a guiding rail 4B. Thus by making the color and the monochrome units attachable with compatibility, various image formation can be obtained. |
