PURPOSE:To confirm whether hardware has accurately been set or not at the time of SG through the use of a hardware detection device by checking whether an I/O driver is connected or not, detecting connected hardware and generating initial SG (System Generation) information. CONSTITUTION:An utility program generating a system consists of the hardware detection device 1, an SG information generation device 2 and a kernel generation device 3. When the utility program is started, the hardware detection device 1 firstly tries an access to all devices which can be connected from a driver table 4 which the system can supply, and checks whether they are connected. The initial setting of SG information 5 is thus executed. At that time, the table of hardware 6 connected to the system at present is obtained. Thus, the initial value of SG information can be obtained in the same way as hardware information which has been set, the trouble of SG is eliminated, and an error in an SG work is simultaneously reduced.
