This latch is of the type which comprises two springs, one which acts against the bolt and another which acts against the cam which is connected to the bolt with an inner box. This novel latch which is structurally simple and considerably strengthened is characterized in that the inner box is constructed on the basis of two parallel plates which are fixed directly to the bolt and between which is the spring which acts against the bolt and which via its rear end rests against individual dishes punching in the sides of the casing. The spring which acts against the cam is arranged between the rear end wall of the casing and the intermediate portion of a U-shaped piece which via the end of its branches pushes the cam. The casing has, on its longitudinal edges, individual stampings which form individual guides for the inner box. <IMAGE>
